Paseo Herencia and Ministers Hosts a Hero’s Welcome for Aruba’s Junior League Latin Champions

Young baseball players between the ages of 13 to 15 from Aruba’s champion team, Oranjestad North, defeated the top team from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, 10-4. This gave them the win to take the champion title for the Latin Division on Sunday, June 15, during the play-offs in Costa Rica, Residents including those who are lucky enough to live her in
ARUBA REAL ESTATE.
They returned to Aruba on Tuesday afternoon to be met at the airport by family, friends and fans alike. Then, they traveled in a Hummer limousine which led their motorcade to Paseo Herencia shopping center in Palm Beach.
The heroes were welcomed back by Minister of Public Health & Sport, Dr. Richard Visser and Minister of Tourism, Transport & Labor Otmar Oduber.
Both Ministers expressed their great pride for this young team, and commended their spirit and the work of their coach Manuel Camera and Manager Lyrick Pourier.
Next month, the team departs for Michigan, to compete for the world title. The Junior League World Series 2012 will take place from August 12 to 18 and will be broadcast live on ESPN 3.
